During the 2004/2005 school year, Medora Jr/Sr High School implemented a Sustained Silent Reading program. In this program, students and teachers read his/her choice of book, magazine, or newspaper from 8:20 to 8:37 AM each day - and they MUST read! This program, which gives students and teachers alike time to just sit down, relax and read, has been a success at Medora High School.
Teacher Barbara Ritz feels that SSR has increased library circulation and the reading of class assignments. "I like it because I am getting to read books that I haven't had time to read."
