New Immunization Requirements for
2010-2011 School year:
In addition to all other previously required vaccines…
All children in grades 6 through 12 must have:
*One dose Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis)
* One dose MCV4 (meningococcal vaccine)
* Two doses of Varicella (chicken pox vaccine) or documented date of disease (month and year)
Please check your child’s immunization records now to be sure his/her records are in compliance with the new law and plan accordingly to set up an appointment with your healthcare provider or the Jackson County Health Department to obtain these important immunizations. These vaccines will be a requirement and your child must have them completed prior to entering the 2010-2011 school year. Please do not delay, act now, as appointment times fill quickly and vaccine may be in short supply later in the year.
Written documentation of these vaccines must be provided to the school.
